Yunlin Shuilin Solar Power Plant Project

As the world accelerates its energy transition and pursuit of net-zero carbon goals, solar power has become a key pillar of Taiwan’s renewable energy development. Yunlin Shuilin region, with its abundant sunlight and vast land resources, offers natural advantages for solar power generation. To maximize these resources and enhance the stability of renewable energy supply, ICP implemented a highly integrated smart power solution that enables the solar plant to achieve efficient and reliable operations through intelligent monitoring and system integration. This project adopts a system architecture that is compliant with the IEC 61850 communication protocol, ensuring real-time and stable communication between solar power equipment and Taipower substations, in full alignment with grid interconnection technical requirements. ICP also deployed RTU and the PowerSCADA system to enable real-time equipment monitoring, data transmission, and alarm management, significantly improving operation and maintenance efficiency as well as response speed. To ensure system safety and stability, ICP carried out electrical control design and protective relay configuration, establishing a comprehensive protection mechanism that minimizes fault risk and enhances overall reliability. Through the integration of these technologies, ICP successfully built a highly intelligent and stable solar power plant, addressing the demands of energy transition while providing the local community with a reliable renewable power supply and long-term sustainable benefits.

ICP successfully secured this project, driven by its expertise in IEC 61850 integration and RTU engineering for Taipower substations. These technologies have been widely applied to private large-scale energy storage, solar, and offshore wind substation projects, enabling ICP through continuous team development and technical advancement, to establish a robust one-stop integrated service capability.
