NCU Microgrid Advances Further： ICP Empowers the Growth of an Energy Innovation Cluster

Amid growing global momentum toward net-zero transformation and increasing demand for energy resilience, university campuses are evolving from energy consumers into vital hubs for energy innovation, technology validation, and talent development. Today (15th), ICP officially announced that it has been awarded the turnkey contract for the construction of NCU's microgrid and solar-powered covered sports facility. The project also reserves capacity for future cross-campus energy integration and Virtual Power Plant (VPP) applications at NCU, laying a strong foundation for the transition from a microgrid demonstration site to the next stage of a campus-wide energy cluster.

Advantech today (27th) announced the completion of its strategic investment in ICP. Moving forward, the partnership will focus on the pre-integration of cybersecurity and Solution Ready Packages (SRPs). By systematically integrating software and hardware architectures, communication protocols, and cybersecurity mechanisms in advance, the two companies aim to develop standardized, easily replicable solutions that can shorten project deployment timelines and accelerate the global implementation of iVPP and energy digitalization solutions.

Taiwan-based system integration company CloudLink Networks made its debut at Energy Taiwan this year, showcasing two key themes: Smart Grid and Virtual Power Plant (VPP). In the Smart Grid section, CloudLink designed various dispatching scenarios based on power flow and resource load conditions within the grid. Through a simulation system, the concept of a virtual power plant is presented in a clear and accessible way. This exhibit is featured at booth I0599a in the Energy Storage Application Zone.
