Changbin Lunwei East Floating Solar Power Plant Project
Implemented Solution
Given Taiwan’s limited land resources, floating solar power plants have become a growing trend in renewable energy development. The Changbin Lunwei East project installed solar generation equipment on the ocean surface, not only reducing land development and leasing costs but also effectively utilizing idle water areas. However, the marine environment poses unique challenges, including climate variations, tidal fluctuations, salt accumulation, and biological debris, which increase the difficulty and cost of solar panel maintenance. To ensure stable power generation and grid quality, the project implemented a high-specification power monitoring and protection system at the substation, reinforcing overall power transmission efficiency and operational safety.
Challenges
Challenges
ICP successfully secured the floating solar power plant project through its proven expertise in IEC 61850 substation implementation and RTU engineering. These technical capabilities, originally developed through extensive work in Taipower substations, have been broadly applied to private large-scale energy storage, solar, and offshore wind substation projects. We specialize in high-difficulty and highly professional IEC 61850 and RTU engineering projects. With long-term dedication, ICP can deliver stable and reliable solutions across a wide range of complex scenarios. ICP has established a comprehensive service ecosystem including electrical control design, protective relay configuration, PowerSCADA systems, and on-site fiber-optic network engineering, providing clients with end-to-end professional support.
