50+2 特殊保護系統
The Special Protection System (SPS), also known as the 50+2 Overload Protection System, consists of two elements: “50”, representing the instantaneous overcurrent relay, and “2”, representing the time-delay relay. The 50+2 function is mandated by Taipower’s System Planning Department, which determines installation requirements for grid-connected operators at substations based on calculated parameters. The system uses real-time overload current levels as the triggering reference, combined with delay settings, to automatically initiate load shedding when both thresholds are reached—thereby reducing system overload and maintaining grid stability.
